Who killed Emily French?

Tagora, the theatre company of the Council of Europe’s staff Amicale, will provide the answer, in its new production of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution on 29 and 30 November and 1 December in the projection room of the Council of Europe.

Sir Wilfrid Robarts, famous and brilliant criminal barrister, has an unexpected visitor: Leonard Vole, who is suspected of having murdered Miss Emily French. Guileless and charming, Vole succeeds in convincing Sir Wilfrid and his solicitor, Mayhew, of his innocence but the police arrive, arrest him and take him away.

The next visitor is Romaine, Vole’s enigmatic wife, whose attitude arouses the lawyers’ suspicions.

The action then moves to the Central Criminal Court (the famous “Old Bailey”) and the trial of Leonard Vole, the outcome of which, following a series of sensational, Christie-style twists and revelations, is unexpected to say the least …

The theatre is the Central Criminal Court: YOU are the jury! The scenes in the great barrister’s chambers are projected on video, making the evening a true multimedia experience. Places in the Projection Room are limited, so please book early!
